BOSTON TOWNSHIP

The Boston Township minutes are posted on our website at www.bostontownship.organd outside the office of the Fiscal Officer in the Boston Township Hall. Our meetings are not currently being covered by The West Side Leader. Additionally, The West Side Leader did not cover Boston Township candidates or issues for the recent election.

Zoning Update: As Zoning Inspector Mike Anderson was elected trustee, the township needed to find a replacement. At the meeting held January 14, Ruben Miller was hired as Zoning Inspector, Ruben is a retired police officer and a former Marine Corps reservist. Mike and Ruben will be working together to transition the zoning operations. To contact the Zoning Inspector, please leave a message at (330) 657-2601. Also, until further notice, the Zoning Commission will be having a work session at 5:30PM, prior to their regular meeting, on the second Tuesdays of each month. They are working with zoning consultant Fred Guerra on revisions to the resolution.

Don Beal: At the meeting held on December 10, Don Beal was recognized for his service as a trustee from April 23 to December 31, 2025 with the following proclamation:

Whereas, there was an unanticipated trustee vacancy as of April 9, 2025, and
Whereas, Don Beal had served the township for many years as a member of the Zoning Commission, and
Whereas, upon being asked to fill out the remainder of the unexpired term, Don Beal generously agreed to serve, and
Whereas, Don Beal was unanimously appointed Boston Township Trustee on April 23, 2025,
Therefore, on behalf of the citizens of Boston Township, we thank Don Beal for his continued service to Boston Township, given this tenth day of December 2025.




Thank you, Melissa!: For the tenth year in a row, Melissa Anderson has designed the Boston Township entry into the Mini Tree Display at the Peninsula Library. This event, which started in 2007, has featured many wonderfully decorated trees. But Melissa doesn`t just decorate a tree, she creates works of art, hand-sculpted and hand-painted with care. This year`s entry was a three-dimensional retelling of the Charles Dickens` classic, A Christmas Carol.
