PENINSULA VILLAGE

Village of Peninsula Council Meeting March 14, 2011:

Lily Fleder was honored by council as Citizen of the Year. She was presented with a framed Proclamation by solicitor Lee Cole and was acknowledged by Council, the Mayor and all those in the audience.

The Mayor announced an agreement was reached with Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad whereas the railroad will pay the village $5,000.00 in 2011 in consideration for the services provided by the Village to the railroad. The Mayor also announced the closing of Route 303 at the railroad crossing beginning April 10, 2011 for repairs. The repairs will be completed by April 14th or 15th, 2011. Detours will be posted.

Discussion took place on the revised Police Manual presented to council, but no action was taken. Council requested more time to review changes.

The Fiscal Officer presented legislation to accept a grant for the Summit/Akron Solid Waste Management Authority. The grant was for $604.00 and council will decide on how to best utilize the funds.

Council sent some Zoning Ordinances back to the Planning Commission for further review.

A Special Council meeting was set for March 30, 2011 at 6:00pm at the Village Hall. The purpose of the meeting will be to review and pass the Village Budget for 2011 and for possible further discussion or action on the Police Manual.

Planning Commission: April 19, 2011 at 7:00 pm
