BOSTON TOWNSHIP

CONDOLENCES: Former Trustee John Puchalsky passed away July 14, 2012. Our condolences to his family.

MIKE KAPLAN: The Trustees welcomed community resident Mike Kaplan, candidate for the Ohio House district 38, to their last meeting. Mike discussed his thoughts on school funding and his willingness to set aside partisan politics and work together to help our area.

COMPENSATORY TIME OFF POLICY: A compensatory time off policy was adopted by the trustees.

PUBLIC HEARING: The Trustees set the public hearing for August 22, 2012 at 6:00PM at the township meeting room on amended zoning chapter 15 creating an economic activity district in the township.

ENGINE BRAKES: Trustee Ritch has been working with the Ohio Turnpike Commission and the State Highway Patrol in an effort to get the “no engine brake” signs in the vicinity of the Cuyahoga River bridge enforced. The Highway Patrol has not been enforcing this regulation.

STANFORD ROAD CLOSURE: the Trustees received the certified resolution from Summit County Council closing Stanford Road. The Summit County Engineer’s Office will advise of the proper signage.

MAJOR ROAD: The Trustees forwarded complaints to the Peninsula Police Department regarding speeding on Major Road. Three tickets have been issued.
