PENINSULA COUNCIL

The Village of Peninsula Council met in regular session on March 11, 2013. The Boston Township Trustees were in attendance and discussed with the Council the possibility of entering into a Joint Economic Activity District. A joint committee meeting between the two entities was planned but a date or time has not yet been established. The Mayor and Council accepted the resignation of Nancy Orahoske as the Clerk of the Peninsula Mayor's Court. The Mayor had previously announced the closing of the Mayor's Court. All future court business will be handled by the Stow Municipal Court. The Council and Mayor thanked Nancy for her years of dedicated service to the Village. She has accepted a position at the Stow Court. Council discussed the vacant position of Police Chief. It was decided to make it a full time position and that it would be advertised and applications be taken. The Player's Barn was also discussed. Council decided that the Planning Commission should review the proposed license and report back to Council with their recommendations. The 2013 permanent budget was passed by Council. Council also noted that the Town Hall exterior painting project could start as soon as the weather breaks. The Mayor would like to extend an invitation to all citizens to attend the next Council meeting on April 11 to express their views on the joint venture with Boston Township and the sharing of tax revenues.
