PENINSULA VILLAGE

The Village Council met in regular session on October 14, 2013. The Mayor announced that trick-or-treating will take place on Thursday, October 31st from 6 to 7:30p.m. throughout the Village. Council approved two agreements for the Police Department. The first was with the Metro SWAT organization and the second was with the Summit County Sheriff to become an OVI Task Force Member. Council also approved a contract to purchase road salt from Boston Township for the upcoming winter season. Council approved the appointment of Allan Jones as a part time police officer in the Village. The Mayor administered the Oath of Office to him at the meeting. Also approved by Council was additional work to be provided by B & C Communication to improve radio service for the Police Department. The Village is still seeking a part time employee for the Service Department. If anyone is interested, they may pick up an application at the Village Hall or send their resume to penvilclerk@windstream.net. The rate of pay is $12.00 per hour and it would entail approximately 24 hours per week. Please remember to vote on November 5th and support our community including Issue 29.

Brush pickup will end on the first Monday of October. Leaf pickup will begin the middle of October and end on November 30.

Check the Library, Post Office, Village Town Hall, Terry Lumber and the Fire Station for postings. Please note that postings will no longer be made at the Woodridge Intermediate School to help insure the safety of our children.
