The Village of Peninsula Council met in regular session on June 9, 2014. Council approved a renewal of the Village’s insurance policy with Wichert Insurance. Solicitor Hesske received approval to invite MS Consulting to the next Council meeting (July) for a presentation of potential services. Mayor Mayer announced his meeting with Russell Pry, County Executive, for an update to the Wastewater Initiative and the report funded by the County. Council reviewed the construction costs of the Akron Peninsula Road storm erosion.

Solicitor Hesske said that she will schedule a meeting with the JEDD Committee members of Council and Boston Township to discuss funding/distribution concerns.

Renewal of the Dispatch contract with the Village of Richfield was placed on hold. A Public Hearing was announced for June 12th to review a request for variance at 2474 Main Street.

Council approved an amendment to the Pay Ordinance for Auxiliary officers to increase their pay for task force assignments. These funds are reimbursed by the Sherriff’s office.

There will be a Public Auction on June 21, 2014, at the Village of Peninsula Service Garage at 10:00 am. For a list of items call the Village Hall.
