PENINSULA VILLAGE
The Village of Peninsula Council met in regular session on October 13, 2015.
Mayor Mayer thanked Boston Township for attending the Joint Meeting, which was held prior to the Regular Session. The Mayor said that it was a good meeting and Council will take into consideration the Township’s request to freeze the Police Contract.
The Mayor announced that a resident has offered to purchase paint from Terry Lumber to paint the Police Squad Room, a color will be chosen and volunteers will be doing the work. The Mayor and Council would like to thank the resident for their generous donation.
Mrs. Kramer reported on the Job and Pay Scale Committee. The committee developed a job description and pay scale for the Service Department as required by the Ohio State Auditor. Councilman Dan Schneider and Councilwoman Pam Schneider voted against passing Ordinance 5-2014(D) and Ordinance 6-2015 at this meeting. The ordinances will be read at a third meeting.
Ms. Holody reported that the Wastewater Advisory Committee continues to meet every two weeks and is open to the public. The committee is scheduled to visit Clinton, OH, which will be the final system they look at. The next step will be to compile the data into a report that will be presented to the Planning Commission.
Chief Varga announced that the Police Department will be passing out Coffee, Hot Chocolate and Candy at the Police Station on Halloween, Saturday, October 31. The “No Parking” signs have been received; Terry Lumber donated the wood to mount the signs on. These signs may be used by the residents and businesses holding an event. If you would like to borrow a sign(s), please contact the Police Department at 330.657.2995.

Chief Varga reported that all officers have completed the (OPOTA) mandatory state training and the Village Police Department is 100% Compliant.

Upcoming Events:
All residents of Peninsula and Boston Township are invited to participate in the Saturday, October 31 Trick-or-Treat, Trunk-or-Treat, Party at the Woodridge Intermediate School, and Costume Contest. Trunk-or-Treating will be held at the Intermediate School parking lot for residents who live on the outskirts of town. This event is in addition to Trick-or-Treating.

Community Halloween Party at Woodridge Intermediate School 1930 Bronson St.: is set for 7:30-9:00 pm, with the costume contest at 8 pm
