To the Editors:
I`d like to thank Danny Schneider for negotiation with our trash company to give seniors a discount on their trash bills!
As a senior, living alone — I found myself paying for weekly trash pick-up when in reality I only had enough trash to put out every two weeks. I did call the trash company and requested an every two week pickup but they refused stating "that was not part of Peninsula`s contract."
I called the Schneiders and explained the problem, hoping they could help out with getting a break for those of us on a fixed income.
Lo and behold the new trash contract includes a senior citizen discount! Thanks so much Danny!
The Township should also get this benefit in their trash contract.
