The Peninsula Village Council met in regular session on April 9, 2018. New Police Officer Jay Nagy was introduced to the Council and citizens. Chief Varga, through the Project Safe Child Organization, announced that gun safety locks were given to the Village at no cost. They are available to the citizens for anyone who is interested. They may be picked up at the Village Hall at no cost while supplies last. Council approved an increase in the Uniform Allowance for Police Officers and pay raises for certain employees. They also approved the acceptance of a grant from NOPEC for an energy efficiency project. There is still a vacancy on the Village's Board of Zoning Appeals. Any citizen who is interested in serving may call the Mayor's Office for consideration.
