To the Editors:

I am so tired of all of the negative publicity that Peninsula gets. The infighting, the lawsuits, the constant bickering and backward thinking. Water and sewer are two things that should have been taken care of LONG AGO. Look around us, why didn`t our former leaders join the neighboring communities when they were given the opportunities?? Walk downtown any day year round and the smell of raw sewage is ALWAYS in the air. I am appalled that anyone thinks that this is okay. It is time for we current residents to do the right thing and clean up this mess that we have inherited from our former leaders, otherwise, we will be answering to future generations…this is NOT going away. I know that this is going to cost us dearly, however, sometimes you have to decide what you stand for, hopefully the greater good. Let`s let council and the wastewater committee spend their time working to find funding to help offset these costs rather than throwing up roadblocks and letting egos once again block our progress. I believe that we are at a crossroads, let`s choose the right path.
